Malanshan Computing Media Institute Joins MindSpore for In-depth Multimodal Behavior Analysis
Recently, Malanshan Computing Media Institute (MLSCMI) of Hunan Province signed the Corporate Contributor License Agreement (CCLA) and officially joined the MindSpore open source community.

Malanshan Computing Media Institute leverages AI to transform the culture and creative industries. In collaboration with Huawei Ascend AI, EPIC Game China, and NVIDIA, the institute brings together experts in audio and video processing, multimodal AI, and other AI research domains, as well as university labs and research centers for more innovative projects.
In partnership with all elite partners, MLSCMI developed an AI-assisted VR platform to boost digital transformation in video, movie, animation, and education. On top of current AI technologies, the Institute also strives to make progress in cutting-edge research fields such as multimodal pre-trained models, speech intelligence, 3D computing modeling, gesture and sign language recognition, and computing animation. These research projects are jointly implemented with Huawei, Institute of Automation of CAS, Hunan University, Central South University, and Beijing Institute of Technology.
Current major projects of MLSCMI are 5G network for intelligent converged media, animation-oriented avatar 3D reconstruction, and intelligent audio and video synthesis processing.
MLSCMI & MindSpore
After joining the MindSpore open source community, MLSCMI further develops AI services such as sign language, digital humans, and multimodal foundation models. Specifically, it plans to establish a behavior multimodal foundation model with Huawei Ascend, the Institute of Automation, and Keenbow. Changsha AI Computing Center will provide up to 100 PFLOPS computing power to support this project.
The joint projects are just a beginning. In the future, MLSCMI will team up with MindSpore to serve more hearing-impaired people, focusing on sign language recognition and translation to make their lives more convenient.
